Four facts on the label tell you most of what you need to know. None of them is a measure of what a product does.

• Strain identity. A species name such as Lactobacillus acidophilus covers many different strains. A deposit code, for example NCIMB 30442, identifies the exact organism. Published research is carried out on specific strains, so the code is what lets you match a product to a study.
• CFU count. CFU means colony forming units, the number of live organisms per serving. Check whether the figure is guaranteed to the best-before date or only at manufacture. A higher number is not automatically a better product.
• Storage. Some products are shelf-stable and some must be refrigerated. CDS22-formula is stored at +2°C to +8°C. Always follow the storage instructions on the pack.

CDS22-formula Probiotic is an eight-strain live bacteria food supplement manufactured by EOS2021 S.r.l. The formulation was developed by Professor Claudio De Simone and is referred to in the published literature as the De Simone Formulation. The eight strains are identified on the Irish label by their NCIMB deposit codes, NCIMB 30435 to NCIMB 30442.

Stock is held refrigerated at +2°C to +8°C at a temperature-controlled facility in Dublin and dispatched on a tracked service, with no Friday dispatch.
