MK-4 or MK-7: which K2 is this?
Vitamin K2 comes in several forms. This product uses menaquinone-4 (MK-4), the short-chain form, at 45 µg per capsule. MK-7 is the long-chain form used in many other K2 supplements, typically at 90 to 200 µg. The two differ in how long they remain in circulation and in the doses used in trials, and they are not interchangeable microgram for microgram. How to take

Both nutrients hold an authorised claim for the maintenance of normal bones, and vitamin D also holds claims for calcium absorption and normal blood calcium levels, so manufacturers commonly pair them in one capsule. Is NOW Vitamin D3 & K2 suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
It is suitable for vegetarians: the capsule is hypromellose (plant cellulose) with a rice flour base and contains no gelatin. The label does not state the source of the vitamin D3, and most cholecalciferol is derived from lanolin, so we do not describe this product as vegan.
